Shared Ownership Week 2020: Watch first time buyer webinars with Share to Buy
Online events helped budding buyers understand the Shared Ownership scheme
Shared Ownership Week 2020 took place between September 17th – September 23rd and gave registrants access to a wealth of online events about how the government-backed scheme can help individuals get on to the property ladder.
From exciting webinars to a variety of informative blogs and supplements, the digital campaign surrounding Shared Ownership saw high engagement from a range of budding buyers wanting to learn more about the part buy/part rent scheme.
During the week, Share to Buy partnered with Shared Ownership Week to host a number of live webinars answering some of the key questions surrounding this alternative home-buying scheme, including eligibility criteria and costs, as well as offering financial and legal advice.
What is Shared Ownership?
Shared Ownership is a homeownership product which allows eligible buyers to purchase a share of a property. Also referred to as part buy/part rent, Shared Owners will buy an initial share in their home – usually between 25 to 75%. They’ll then pay a mortgage on the portion they own, and rent on the remainder to a housing association.
Shared Ownership is ideal for those who can’t quite afford the mortgage on 100% of a home as it enables them to become owner-occupiers, with the long-term security and stability of home ownership at a price that’s still affordable.
