Sources & Method
Job listings data was sourced from Indeed and LinkedIn and is based on listings available in April 2022.
The number of university courses was sourced from UCAS.
Company data was sourced from Companies House and is based on businesses registered since January 2010.
Population data was sourced from World Population Review.
By weighting scores for each factor relative to the population of each city, we calculated total scores whereby a higher number indicates less opportunity (i.e. more people per opportunity) and a lower number means more opportunity (i.e. less people competing per opportunity).
