London Home Show Countdown: L&Q
Finding your happy place with L&Q
Having a home where you can build memories and be yourself has never felt more important than over the past year. The home has evolved from a place to eat and sleep, into a true sanctuary.
Home ownership is essential in making a property feel yours, providing a unique sense of security, pride and satisfaction.
L&Q is helping hopeful buyers step onto the property ladder with Shared Ownership – the alternative home ownership scheme designed as a stepping-stone to outright ownership, for those who can’t afford to buy a home on the open market. Under the Shared Ownership scheme, you part-own and part-rent your home, making it possible for first-time buyers and families to get on the property ladder in a wide range of locations.
Shared Ownership buyers who meet the eligibility criteria are able to purchase a percentage share of their home, usually a 25% minimum. Deposits can be as low as 5% to 10% of the share purchased, while rent is paid on the remaining shares – making it a more accessible option for many.
Walter Cannavacciuolo and James Aranda are two purchasers who recently used Shared Ownership to buy an L&Q home, allowing them to get on to the property ladder without compromising on the wedding of their dreams. They commented, “Buying a property and planning a wedding are big financial commitments, and we didn’t want to sacrifice our dream for either. Shared Ownership meant that we didn’t have to choose between a wedding and a new home.”
Offering East London living in a neighbourhood rich in culture and creativity, Lock No.19 is a stylish collection of one, two, and three bedroom apartments in Fish Island, Hackney Wick. Apartments feature top-of-the-range specification, open-plan living areas and private outdoor space to every home. Lock No.19 is well-connected, with Hackney Wick Overground station accessible in just a 12 minute walk, and Pudding Mill Lane DLR station only a 15 minute walk away.
Outside the capital in Milton Keynes, L&Q is soon to launch a new phase of two and three bedroom Shared Ownership houses at Saxon Reach. Part of the wider Glebe Farm development, which will deliver new retail and commercial facilities, and an extension of the Milton Keynes Redway system – a 200-mile network of shared use paths for cyclists and pedestrians – Saxon Reach is perfect for families. There will be a new school at the development, welcoming children from primary age up to the end of secondary school.
L&Q also offers a wide range of homes available through Help to Buy. To view all currently available properties, please visit lqhomes.com.
