The Local Connection Criteria is as follows:

• First priority is given applicants that have a local connection to Liskeard.

• Second priority after 21 days of marketing will enable applicants that have a connection to St Cleer, Menheniot, Dobwalls and Trewidland to apply.

• Third priority after 31 days of marketing will enable applicants from Tertiary area connection (formerly known as Caradon District Council) to apply.

• Fourth priority after 42 days from Marketing will enable applicants that have a Cornwall County connection to apply.

• Under occupy by no more than 1 bedroom

The Local connection criteria is as follows:

Local Connections – means a connection with the Town or County as appropriate and demonstrated by
that person or a member of their Household to the reasonable satisfaction of the Council or agent being
Plymouth Community Homes;

Town being Callington and the County being Cornwall.

(a) Being a permanent resident therein for a continuous period of at least twelve (12) months
immediately prior to Advertising and that the Residents is of their own choice; or
(b) Being formerly permanently resident therein for continuous period of five (5) years; or
(c) Having his or her place of permanent work (normally regarded as sixteen (16) hours or more a week
and not including seasonal employment) therein immediately prior to Advertising; or
(d) Having a connection through a close family member (normally mother, father, brother, sister, son or
Daughter) where the family member is currently resident therein and has been so for a continuous
period of at least five (5) years immediately prior to Advertising; or
(e) Being in such other special circumstances which the Council consider requires the applicant to
resident therein as appropriate and which is consistent with the Councils Cornwall homechoice
policy as amended from time to time.

Under Occupation
The Council reserves the right not to allow the sale of an affordable dwelling to a qualifying Person with a
local connection with the Town should the sale result in an under occupancy of the Affordable dwelling by
more than one bedroom.

Our homes at The Consols have a Section 106 agreement, a condition set by planning for this development. One of the criteria in the S106 agreement is all applicants
purchasing a Shared Ownership home will need to have a local connection.

The local connection criteria is as follows:

To confirm your local connection, the applicant[s] will need to show evidence of the following:

• Have lived in West Devon for 3 out of the 5 years preceding the application.
• Have immediately, prior to the application, lived in West Devon for 6 out of 12 months preceding the application.
• Have immediate family living in West Devon for 5 years preceding the application. Immediate family are parents, siblings and non dependent children.
• Have permanent employment in West Devon with a minimum contract of 16 hours per week which has continued for the 6 months preceding the application without a break in employment of more than 3 months. Such employment to include self employment. This should not include employment of a casual nature.

• Armed Forces personnel who:
o Are currently serving in the regular forces or who were serving in the regular forces at any time in the 5 years preceding their application
o Bereaved spouses or civil partners of those serving in the regular forces where
(i) the bereaved spouse or civil partner has recently ceased, or will cease, to be entitled, to reside in Ministry of Defence accommodation following the death of their service spouse or civil partner, and
(ii) the death was wholly or partly attributable to their service
o Existing or former members of the reserve forces who are suffering from a serious injury, illness or disability which is wholly or partly attributable to their service
